At the
deepest foundation of the core philosophy of
Design Construction is a strong passion for
the design/build dynamic of custom homes. This
passion is what spurred current President,
Don Shultz, to start Design Construction in
1988.
Custom homes – over
200 of them - built by Design Construction
can be found throughout Summit, Stark and
Medina Counties in communities like Green,
Bath Township, Hudson, Stow, Sharon Township,
Copley Township, Tallmadge, Cuyahoga Falls,
Northampton, Wadsworth, Jackson Township,
North Canton, Canal Fulton and Uniontown.
Many of these homes have merited recognition
by the Homebuilding industry – multiple
Best of New Homes Competition awards, multiple
Better Homes and Gardens Awards of Distinction,
multiple Best Product Design awards in various
categories.
What makes Design Construction
unique to the custom home marketplace is
that Principals in the Company have extensive
backgrounds in the design process – so
that the design work happens in-house. In
this logical fashion, the same person responsible
for translating the purchaser’s ideas
into working blueprints is also navigating
through the pre-determined budget providing “balance” to
the process. The result is a value-engineered
structure, including all of the lifestyle
features, creature comforts and material
specifications identified by the purchaser
comprised by the budget constraints that
were established at the beginning. Relationship-building
and developing a complete awareness of what
the purchaser is attempting to accomplish
is a skill that the Design Construction team
is proud to have developed.

current custom home community, Mayfair East
in Green – home of the 2004 Summer
Parade of Homes – or, those who currently
own a lot are invited to have Design Construction
